All 5th 6th 7th and 8th grade students should continue to practice.
It is important to keep your embouchure firm and mind sharp by practicing at least three times a week. In the 7th and 8th grade seating will be by how well your play.
Private lessons make a big difference in a students playing ability.

Home Work for 5th grade Beginning Band.
Students should be working on the Standard Of Excellence Book. A 30 minute meaningful practice is all that is necessary.
Students can use the following times to practice at school or get individual help.
Coming to the band room to practice 3 times a week takes the place of two at home practices. Students with larger instruments or any band student can come to the band room and use the following three opportunities to practice.
1) Mornings from 7:30AM to 7:55 AM.
2) Lunch Time after a student has eaten lunch with the permission of their teacher for the remainder of the lunch period.
3) After school starting at 3:00PM students may use the practice rooms until 3:45PM.
More practice is better of course, and private lessons make a world of difference in a students progress.

Home Work for 6th Grade Advanced Band.
The 6th grade band should be working on the sheet music that they have be given such as "The Star Spangled Banner", Another One Bites the Dust, We Will Rock You. Students should be working in the Red Standards Book and be practicing on page 42, the B flat Major Scale and the Chromatic Scale, Students should be practicing on the Middle School Warmup sheet and all passed out sheet music. Pep band and Concert Band Music.
Parents must have instrument rental insurance along with any rental instrument.

All 7th and 8th grade students should be working on:
Page 42 of the Red Standards Book the B flat major scale, E flat Major Scale, F Major Scale, A flat Major Scale, and Chromatic Scale. All sheet music as it is passed out. Middle School Warmup should be played to warmup the instrument before practice.
Music note books are checked each 9 weeks for 100 points possible grade.
Band calendars will be given again to each student at the beginning of the year so that important graded activities are reserved for the band in advance.
